Bed Care & Mulching

It’s a fact that most plants will yield much better results if time is taken up front to improve the soil in plant beds. One of the keys is organic matter - and plenty of it - incorporated into the top layer of soil. This improves drainage and lets air move more freely through the soil (enabling oxygen to reach the roots more easily).

The acidity and alkalinity of the soil greatly affect floral results, and it’s well worth having Hedge To Edge perform a pH test to determine if soil amendments are needed. In most cases adding a layer of mulch is recommended, since it conserves moisture, reduces weeds, regulates soil temperatures and gives your beds a finished look…all before the plants even begin to grow.
